Viridian’s Astaxanthin is a carotenoid sourced from freshwater microalgae (Haematococcus pluvialis), one of the richest sources of natural astaxanthin. Astaxanthin is cultivated using the pristine waters from the Himalayas in an ideal climate which allows the microalgae to flourish without the requirement for any artificial heating or cooling. As well as minimizing the hienvironmental impact of production, the exposure to natural sunlight gives this carotenoid its characteristic vivid red color as the microalgae reacts to UV light.
